Italian + Biking
Interested in learning Italian while discovering one of the true hidden gems of southern Sardinia day by day?
We have designed a special retreat that combines an immersive Italian language course with daily guided experiences and mini-tours, allowing you to explore some of the most fascinating and magical places in and around Cagliari. Even if you have visited the city before, you will discover it through new eyes.
How the course is organised
Each morning begins with Italian lessons: we meet at 9:30 a.m. and explore the language together until 12:30 p.m., with a short coffee break. Your trainer Nadja will guide you through the beauty of the Italian language using the PDL method, an engaging and effective approach to language learning.
In the afternoons, Nadja and Cristina Muntoni - writer and founder of Centro Studi Identità e Memoria, CeSim Sardegna - will lead you on curated explorations across Cagliari and southern Sardinia. Her work focuses on the deep connections between history, traditions, myths, and landscape, offering participants a rich cultural perspective.

You will experience
A 4-hour guided tour of Castello, the medieval heart of Cagliari, including a visit to the National Archaeological Museum of Cagliari.
An urban trek to the Sella del Diavolo, the iconic promontory overlooking the Gulf of the Angels. According to legend, this is where Lucifer was defeated by the angels during a celestial battle over the beauty of the gulf. Thrown from his horse, his saddle fell into the sea, turned to stone, and formed the rocky ridge you see today.
A visit to the Domus de Janas of Montessu (about 50 km from Cagliari). This extraordinary archaeological area includes around 40 hypogeic tombs set within a landscape of striking natural beauty. The experience features a guided tour and a narrative performance accompanied by live music, dedicated to the janas (fairy-like figures of Sardinian folklore), their legends, and their deep bond with the land.
A trip to Chia, one of the most breathtaking beaches on the south coast of Sardinia where you wil enjoy an olfactory and sensory journey using pure essential oils extracted from wild Sardinian herbs, with the opportunity to purchase them followed by a convivial dinner, cooked together and shared around a table set in a meadow, embracing the warm, informal spirit of traditional Italian communal meals.
A visit to the historic Contivecchi Saltworks, an important industrial and cultural heritage site. A bike or boat tour through the Molentargius Regional Park, an urban wetland famous for its flamingos and unique ecosystem.
